Cubby sends notifications for events that need your attention — failed AutoPay, new online rentals, unsigned documents, task assignments, and Voice AI call handoffs. This article explains each notification type and what to do with it.
Where to find notifications
Notifications appear in the notification bell in the top navigation bar. A badge shows the count of unread items. Click the bell to open the panel.
To receive notifications by email or on your mobile device, see Enroll in Cubby notifications.
Payments & billing
AutoPay failed — a tenant's scheduled payment couldn't be processed. Follow up to collect payment manually or ask the tenant to update their payment method.
Payment received — an online payment has posted to a tenant's account. No action required unless the account was in a delinquency stage — confirm overlock removal if applicable.
Rentals & leads
New online rental — a tenant has completed a rental through your storefront. Confirm the unit is ready and welcome them if needed.
New reservation — a tenant has reserved a unit online. Follow up to convert the reservation to an active rental before it expires.
New lead — a rental inquiry has come in. Follow up promptly — leads go cold quickly. See How to create a rental lead.
Documents
Unsigned document — a tenant has a lease or appendix awaiting their signature. Send a follow-up reminder if it's been pending more than 24 hours.
Document signed — a tenant has signed a document. If your lease configuration requires manual approval, review and approve it.
Tasks
Task assigned to you — a colleague has assigned you a task. Open it from the notification to see the details and due date. See Tasks.
Task due today — a reminder that a task you own is due. Complete it or reschedule with a note.
Voice AI
Missed call / handoff — Patty (the Voice AI) was unable to complete a call and flagged it for follow-up. Review the call summary in Cubby Calls and contact the caller if needed.
Tips for staying on top of notifications
Clear your notification panel each morning as part of your daily checklist.
Enable email notifications for high-priority events (AutoPay failures, missed calls) so you're alerted even when not logged in.
Assign tasks promptly — the assigned user gets an immediate notification so nothing sits unactioned.
