Understanding the Tenant Portal

This article reviews the tenant portal and how a tenant can review and sign documents for their storage unit.

How a tenant e-signs documents

When a tenant receives the link for the e-sign portal, they will be directed to their unique Tenant portal to submit additional information and sign documents.

Example of a Tenant portal:

The status the tenant sees will reflect actions the site manager OR tenant has already taken.

  • If the tenant receives the portal before the site manager inputs any information, the tenant can submit all information and sign the document themselves.
  • If the site manager inputs information and generates documents before the tenant, the tenant may have the ability to review the information.

For some of the documents (e.g., tenant’s proof of insurance, tenant’s identification), the tenant will simply have to input their required information. For other documents (e.g., the lease agreement, facility’s insurance), the tenant will have to input their requirement information and e-sign the document.

Once the tenant finishes completing and signing their requirement documents, their status will reflect as Complete on their end. The tenant’s lease and facility’s insurance will also be available for the tenant to download if they wish to save a copy of it.

Within Cubby, the site manager will be able to see that the tenant has uploaded / signed the documents on their end. They will be able to review each submitted document and Approve or Reject it if there are issues. For example, if the tenant submitted a drivers license that is a different name than what’s on file, the Site Manager can reject it and restart the process.
